Last Project of the Year

I realized I forgot to post a place for you to discuss our very last project....The Evolution Adaptation Project.

You will make a video, powerpoint, or poster describing your chosen organism and its habitat (pick from the list)
You will explain the animal's way of eating, mating, hunting, and other habits, as well as describing natural diversity that exists in the species (a range of sizes, colors, litter size, mating time, vocalizations, etc.)
You will then pick the natural disaster (from the list) that striked the ecosystem.  Tell us how it changes the ecosystem, and how your species adapts to cope with the changes.

Your project should be colorful, attractive, and informative.  You need pictures to illustrate everything you describe.  Handout is on the handouts tab of my teacher website.

Discuss.

Protein Synthesis Animation Project

Today we received our new project assignment--we are using a powerpoint with animations or video to show the two parts of protein synthesis.  You may work with another partner of your choosing or alone.

Your project is DUE 2/1 (A day) 2/2 (B day)

If you lose the rubric, I will deduct 5 points off your project grade--so print a new one off my teacherweb handouts tab.

Discuss.

Cell Energy Mini Project

The Project Guidelines are on my teacherweb.

Take a deep breath--the pictures are in Chapters 8 and 9 of your book, so you are free to trace.

Those long, LOOOOONG lists of words are for you to label and use telling a story of photosynthesis and respiration.  These are the words the book uses in it's digrams, so it's not hard to find them.

Please comment with questions below.

Pre-AP Project: Biomolecule University

So here it is, second 6 weeks, second Pre-AP Bio Projects (no groaning!)  The links below lead you to download the project instructions and the grading rubric.

In summary, you and possibly a partner are creating a skit, powerpoint or video to show the digestion of  a bite of food, its absorption, and the jobs those nutrients in the body.  You are not going to describe the digestion of everything in that food, just one of four macromolecules (protein, carbohydrate, lipid, cholesterol).

Let the discussions begin!  Oh, and to keep there from being a million threads, I will just update what I have written here.
